In fact, over the last couple of years, Ateme solutions have already powered many of the most amazing sports video experiences around the world. Here’s a quick overview of some of the most significant ones.
1. Pristine Quality and Crisp Colors with 4K and HDR
4K UHD is what you need to bring pristine-quality images. And last year, Ateme deployed a complete 4K UHD live streaming platform for Indonesia’s Mola TV, bringing high-quality video of the English Premier League soccer matches to Indonesian viewers for the first time.
Beyond 4K UHD, which is all about resolution, HDR ensures crisp color contrasts. Later that same year, Telefónica’s Movistar Plus+ subscription video platform in Spain received premium UHD/HDR World Cup content for delivery across the country, enabled by Ateme’s solutions for low-latency, premium-quality contribution.
Meanwhile, in Reunion Island, audiences were able to watch the “Grand Raid” running race in 4K UHD, thanks to Ateme’s contribution encoders.
Across the ocean, in India, Ateme’s encoders powered the Viacom18 UHD experience in 17 languages for cricket fans watching the Indian Premier League 2023.
2. Sublime Sunsets and Sparkling Speckles with Dynamic HDR
When it comes to stunning images showing details in both bright light and dark shadows, nothing beats dynamic HDR. For the UEFA Champions League final, French streaming service myCanal used Ateme encoders to achieve this exceptional video quality with Dolby Vision, so viewers both at home and on the move could feel immersed in the stadium.
3. Beyond Images: Full Immersion with Surround Sound
There’s the breathtaking images enabled by 4K UHD, HDR, and dynamic HDR. Then there’s immersive audio, that drives the audience even deeper into the live stadium experience with surround sound. The acoustics come not only from left and right and front and back, but also from above and below.
Brazilian TV network TV Globo offered its viewers immersive audio for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, using Ateme encoders. This took Brazilian audiences to the next level of sports experiences.
