Along with Ateme+ Live, the Ateme+ SaaS suite presents Ateme+ File. It offers the pluses of the TFMS (Titan File Micro Services), now as a SaaS.
Ateme+ File is your key to begin managing a new operational model that simplifies all steps, from deployment to operations in content preparation. But how do you accomplish this in an easy and operationally effective way?
We know how important it is for the transcoding to take place where your content is. Therefore, Ateme+ File has been designed from the ground up to be cloud agnostic. Whether you have a single or multi-cloud approach, Ateme+ File delivers integration and operational simplicity, focusing on:
- A cloud-based platform
- Frictionless onboarding
- An easy-to-use console
- RESTful API
- Cost flexibility (SaaS subscription or pay-as-you-go)
Quick Encoding, Low Bitrates, and High Quality
OTT transcoding offers the biggest impact on the total cost to serve. The resulting output of the transcode must be of the highest quality for the viewer but at the lowest bitrate. Ateme+ File can help you with every transcode you perform, reducing network bandwidth and storage as your assets propagate to more edge caches.
Ateme+ File brings all the bells and whistles from TITAN File, with no limitations on functionality. This means that it operates at full power and transcodes through multiple encoding modes from any format to any format. With advanced codec integration, Ateme+ File supports best-in-class MPEG-2, H.264, and HEVC encoding engines as well as all HDR types. Plus, everything is exposed through API, notably JSON, to configure your transcode profile.
Through framerate conversion, the encoding process analyzes different types of content to apply the best bitrates. For example, the system detects the differences between sport or movie and dynamically adjusts the appropriate encoding according to content. This, in turn, reduces the bitrates but maintains the video quality, while also becoming more cost-effective. In addition, Ateme+ File incorporates ESAM conditioning, which supports DAI (Dynamic Ad Insertion), no matter what your region.
But what about speed?
Distributed transcoding (split and stitch) is essential for UHD and larger files which normally take a long time to transcode. In this regard, Ateme+ File analyzes the file to determine how many segments it should be split into (segmentation happens on a scene change), sends each segment to a transcoder engine, then stitches them back to create one file on output. Thus, rather than one linear transcode, multiple transcodes are performed, which is ideal for fast turn-around.
Easy-to-use Console with Effortless Cluster Build
You get all the information you need from start to finish. The system’s elevated level of interoperability allows you to prioritize jobs, receive multiple outputs per job, and oversee the transcoding process. And, because we believe transparency is important, we provide the cost for each job as soon as it is completed.
Everything in the console is exposed through the API, allowing you to display the data in your own workflow and management system, giving you ultimate integration flexibility.
Read and Write from Your Storage
We don’t hold your content. In fact, Ateme+ File reads and writes directly from your storage, whether it be an AWS S3 bucket, an Azure Blob, or GCP.
That’s all there is to it! Ateme+ File simply reads from your bucket, transcodes to the bucket (in or out of region), and builds your file right where your content is. It doesn’t move your content, and nothing is stored anywhere else. Thus, egress costs are reduced, meaning you only pay for what is transcoded. And, again, the file stays in your storage; only YOU determine who has access to it. Plus, everything is fully and securely encrypted.
The console also provides an up-to-date spending page for full cost transparency. Everything in the Ateme+ SaaS suite can be accessed on the same console and is available through subscription or pay-as-you-go (per minute), no matter what your outcome (Dolby, PCM, etc.). For instance, if you know you have a lot of content to be transcoded throughout the year, subscription might be the way to go. This gives you discounts compared to the standard rate, based on SD, HD, or UHD.
Ateme+ is cost-effective, easy to use, and gives you added security and high quality at the lowest bitrate. Plus, its ever-evolving cloud-agnostic system has already been tested and approved in AWS, and approval from Azure and Google Cloud is expected in the next year.
