Over the last few months, satellite operators, industry broadcasters and technology companies have all been talking about the benefits of the Ultra HDTV.
Our partner, Eutelsat keeps moving forward with the launch of its new channel with HEVC encoding which is multiplexed with the existing Quad HD signal in the same EUTELSAT 10A transponder.
This new Ultra HD HEVC channel, set up in partnership with ATEME, will be operating at 30 frames per second and broadcasting Ultra HD content from Fox International Channels and the National Geographic Channel among others.
Eutelsat also launched an additional Quad HD channel dedicated to the Samsung TV set equipped with satellite reception. Fashion TV Ultra HD content will be shown to the Majestic hotel during the MIPTV in Cannes via this channel.
We are proud of our contribution to this launch as we helped show that the full satellite delivery chain is able to feed Ultra HD television channels, bringing viewers around the world exciting viewing experience.
