  • Partnership produces a game-changing solution – ATEME, in association with Kolor, the world leader in 360° photo and video stitching and Finwe, an expert in innovative mobile interaction, have partnered to develop an end-to-end video broadcast solution that captures, stitches, streams and displays video to provide an immersive panoramic consumer experience for tablets, smartphones and virtual reality headsets.
  • Live 360° television – To produce a 360° video broadcast, a scene is shot with multiple cameras that capture all possible viewing angles. These various views are then stitched together into a single high resolution video sphere that is encoded and streamed using existing standards. On the receiving end, viewers are able to choose and dynamically modify their field of view by either moving the display or touching the screen.
  • Compelling use cases – Sports fans will enjoy a 360° view into sports arenas, on racetracks or on the field, while music fans will have the ability to select and zoom in on one artist at a concert, stay on that artist or turn around and watch the audience. Reality TV viewers can navigate on and off stage, take the public’s or the presenter’s view or have a look at their favorite character, regardless of camera angle.
  • Research and testing – Through the combined efforts of the three companies, the solution is currently being tested in a variety of environments and the team is looking forward to expanding the experiments as the research continues.
